The Dark Inspiration Behind Dracula

Dublin City Council Bram Stoker Festival

Walking Tour of Bram Stoker’s Dublin

"Dracula' ensured that Bram Stoker's name would become one of the most famous and beloved names in gothic history, but what was the city that helped shape the man like when he lived here?

What role did Stoker's upbringing and formative years have to play in making the mind that gave us such genre-defining work, and what part did the city of Dublin play in helping to influence and inform him?

On this tour, we will journey back through time to visit Bram Stoker's Dublin; see the places where he worked and lived, some of the places he knew best in his earlier years. Together, we'll uncover whether there were any clues in his earlier years as to the gifts his mind would bring into the world later in life.
