Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions, simply contact us and we will be happy to help.

There’s no set fee for the tour, rather, you decide how much to pay your tour guide at the end of the tour.

Most guides will accept contactless or card payment at the end of the free tour; but this facility is not always available. We recommend having some local currency in cash, just in case.

This is entirely up to you. It might be helpful to know that most paid tours in Dublin, under the traditional paid tour model, are often not less than €20 per person, and in many instances a good bit more than that;  but you are free to value the tour according to your own opinion and budget. Your guide doesn’t receive any income for the tour other than what the customers on the day choose to pay.

You can arrive at the meeting point without a booking, however, we strongly recommended booking in advance to secure a place on the tour. We have a maximum cap on tours for operational, safety, and tour quality reasons, so we prioritize those customers with bookings on arrival to the meeting point. Book your spot and you’ll receive a digital booking confirmation to show to your tour guide on arrival at the tour meeting point.

We have a maximum limit of 5 people per booking. Groups of 6 or more can request a private tour with advanced notice via the contact form. Please note, if we suspect a group of 6+ has made multiple bookings in an effort to circumnavigate this policy, we reserve the right to refuse your participation on arrival to the tour meeting point.

We always endeavour to run tours as scheduled. We recommend checking weather forecasts in advance of arrival to the tour and dressing appropriately. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone tours at short notice in extreme weather events. In such an instance, we will endeavour to notify those with bookings of any changes to the schedule where possible.

Pictures are fine. Though if you’d like to make any video or audio recordings, we ask that you consult with your tour guide first for permission. If you’re found to be making recordings without the guide’s consent, you may be asked to leave the tour. Thanks for respecting this policy.

The duration of tours, and endpoint vicinity, are indicated on the individual tour pages. These are approximate and can vary slightly depending on the tour guide, group, and external factors affecting the tour route, for example, street closures, etc. The free tour duration includes a short break at a pub to facilitate toilet breaks, refreshments, and brief rest.

Our tours are conducted by foot and can often cover up to 4km. Some of the routes contain steps and older parts of the city which may not be ideal for wheelchair users or persons with reduced mobility; however, you can contact us in advance of booking your tour and we will happily do our best to follow the most suitable route on the day for your needs.
